Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola-Salako has revealed that her open support for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections came at a huge personal and financial cost.
In an interview with Behind The Fame TV, she disclosed losing two ambassadorship deals worth ₦10 million and ₦15 million respectively due to backlash from the “Obidient” movement. According to her, the political controversy even pushed her marriage to the brink of collapse.
Foluke, who served as the media assistant for the Performing Arts Directorate of the APC’s 2023 presidential campaign council in Lagos, said she received no financial gain for her support but chose to “vote her conscience and choice.” She described Tinubu as a father figure who has supported her over the years, including during her wedding, and stressed that her experience in 2023 would shape how she approaches politics in 2027.
