In what many fans are now calling a hopeful turn, Nancy Nnadi, Managing Director of EeZee Conceptz Limited, has publicly retracted her allegations against gospel star Mercy Chinwo, while revealing that peace talks are underway to resolve their ongoing royalty dispute.
This development comes months after Chinwo dragged her former label boss, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu (EeZee Tee), to court over the alleged diversion of $345,000 in music royalties—a scandal that rocked the gospel music community earlier this year.
Following the lawsuit, tensions deepened when Nnadi took to social media accusing Chinwo of financial misconduct. The singer, through her legal team, swiftly filed a defamation suit, demanding a public apology and the removal of the posts.
Now, in a surprising and conciliatory move, Nnadi recanted her statements in a post shared on Instagram over the weekend. With a tone of reflection and faith, she wrote:
“On the advice of my lawyer, and for the sake of peace and love of God, I retract my earlier post about Minister Mercy Chinwo. As well pray that Almighty God perfects ongoing settlement process being facilitated by the Fathers of Faith between her and EeZee Conceptz.”
Insiders close to the matter confirmed that respected church leaders have stepped in to mediate the fallout between Chinwo and the label, aiming to restore peace and settle financial disputes out of court.
The public apology has sparked mixed reactions—while some applaud Nnadi’s humility and the involvement of religious leaders in the peace process, others believe the apology should be backed by real accountability and transparency regarding the royalties in question.
Mercy Chinwo, who left EeZee Conceptz in 2023, has not made a public statement about the retraction as of the time of this report. However, fans and industry watchers are hopeful that this could signal the beginning of reconciliation and closure.
As one gospel fan, Deborah Onwuchekwa, put it: “Whatever went wrong, I’m just glad they’re talking. Mercy Chinwo’s ministry is a blessing, and peace is the fruit of true faith.”
While the legal proceedings are yet to be formally withdrawn, the ongoing faith-led mediation may just pave the way for a resolution that honours both truth and grace.
