Four years after vanishing without a trace, a former Bayero University Kano (BUK) student, Shafiu Auwal Ibrahim, has been found alive in Kaduna — a discovery that has brought tears of joy and relief to his family.
Shafiu, who lived in the Janbulo area of Kano, went missing in 2021 under mysterious circumstances. His disappearance left his parents, relatives, and friends devastated. After years of fruitless searching, the family eventually lost hope, believing their son had died.
But fate had a different plan. Recently, Shafiu’s family decided to resume the search — and in a miraculous turn of events, they found him living with an Islamic scholar in a village in Kaduna.
According to one of his relatives, the cleric explained that he had met Shafiu years ago and took him in because he appeared mentally unstable at the time. “He was found in a village in Kaduna with a cleric who claimed he found him a long time ago,” the relative shared.
Now reunited with his loved ones, Shafiu’s family say he is healthy, calm, and recovering well. After four long years of pain and uncertainty, their story has turned into one of gratitude — a living reminder that miracles still happen.
