It was a warm and collegial atmosphere at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, as the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun, paid a working visit to Dr. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
With a firm handshake and a bright smile, Dr. Walson-Jack welcomed the BPP boss and his team, describing the visit as a timely opportunity to deepen collaboration between two critical arms of government.
As the two top public servants settled into a candid exchange of ideas, the focus was clear: building stronger synergy in public procurement processes and civil service operations for better governance outcomes. Both leaders acknowledged the urgent need for efficient procurement practices that not only save public funds but also enhance service delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
Dr. Adedokun, a respected procurement reform advocate and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (FCIPS), emphasized BPP’s commitment to transparency, compliance, and capacity development within the civil service. He noted that the success of the civil service reform agenda is strongly tied to how procurement systems are managed — from infrastructure delivery to vendor accountability.
In attendance were key figures from both institutions, including Engr. Nasir M. Bello, Director of Civil Infrastructure; Engr. Isaiah G. Yesufu, Director of Compliance, Certification and Monitoring; and Dr. Olanrewaju J. Obasa, Chief of Staff to the DG, BPP. Their presence underscored the technical depth of the discussion and the resolve to push reforms beyond talk.
Photos from the visit captured the moment: smiles, handshakes, and a shared determination to get things done.
The meeting concluded with a shared vision — that through stronger institutional collaboration and reform-driven leadership, public procurement can be an engine for national transformation.
As the DG departed, Dr. Walson-Jack’s parting words rang true: “It’s good to see you. And even better to work together.”
