Gov. Alia Unveils First Batch of New Benue Commissioners After Cabinet Shake-Up

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has kickstarted the process of rebuilding his cabinet with the appointment of eight new commissioners. This move comes just days after he dissolved the former executive council, retaining only the Chief of Staff position now occupied by Moses Atagher, who previously served as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.

The list of nominees was submitted to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation, marking the first phase of a broader cabinet restructuring. Sources close to the government say a second batch of names will follow soon.

The newly nominated commissioners are: Theresa Odachi Ikwue, Benjamin Ashaver, Adamu Margaret Ijaguwa, Peter Oboh Egbodo, Yangien Timothy Ornguga, Denis Iyaighgba, James Dwem, and Paul Ejeh Ogwuche. Their appointments are expected to bring fresh energy and new direction to the state’s governance as the administration refocuses on delivering key promises to the people of Benue.
