The Edo State Government has announced a minor reshuffle within the State Executive Council as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and enhance administrative efficiency. The decision was approved by the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
According to the official statement, Barr. Vincent Osas Uwadiae, formerly Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Lands and Housing as Commissioner. The move is aimed at repositioning expertise for improved institutional performance.
Meanwhile, Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, who served as Commissioner for Lands and Housing, has been appointed as Chief of Staff to the Governor. Hon. Gani Audu, the former Chief of Staff, has been nominated to take over as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.
The minor cabinet reshuffle takes effect from January 30, 2026. The Governor expressed confidence that these strategic adjustments will improve coordination, policy implementation, and overall governance in Edo State.
