Tension is high in Agyaragu, a community in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, after armed men abducted Mr. Enock Maku, the Senior Special Assistant on Information and Protocol to the Chief Judge of the state. The attack, which happened late Wednesday night, has left residents gripped by fear.
Police spokesperson DSP Ramhan Nansel confirmed the incident, stating that officers engaged the kidnappers shortly after the abduction. Two victims were rescued during the confrontation, but Maku remains in the kidnappers’ custody. The police have now launched a full-scale investigation and manhunt to bring him back safely.
Nansel called on the public to stay calm and support the ongoing security efforts. “We are doing everything possible to ensure Mr. Maku is released unharmed,” he assured.
This latest abduction adds to the growing list of security challenges in the state, sparking renewed calls for the protection of public officials and improved community vigilance in vulnerable areas.
