A disturbing video has surfaced online showing a heated confrontation between a 300-level female student of the University of Lagos and her alleged landlord, who she accused of sexual harassment and threats to her life.
In the viral clip, the student can be heard defiantly rejecting his advances, recording the late-night encounter for her safety. The voice of a man, believed to be the landlord, is also captured threatening her life, stating:
“You are going to die… If I see you here again…”
Shockingly, he later mentions that the matter could be resolved with ₦500,000—raising deeper questions about the landlord’s intentions and past behavior.
Throughout the confrontation, the young woman stood her ground, clearly shaken but unafraid, insisting:
“I don’t sleep with old men. I sleep with little boys… You are a dirty thing. I cannot fck you.”*
She then dared him to escalate the matter through legal channels:
“If you don’t lock me up, you are not a man.”
The bravery of the student has drawn widespread attention online, with Nigerians applauding her for standing up against abuse and demanding accountability. The video has sparked intense outrage, with calls for the landlord’s immediate arrest and for law enforcement to investigate the matter thoroughly.
Activists and students’ rights groups have also weighed in, urging the Nigerian Police Force and UNILAG authoritiesto ensure the student’s safety and begin a proper inquiry.
This case adds to the growing list of harassment reports faced by female students in off-campus accommodations, where power dynamics between landlords and tenants often leave young women vulnerable.
As Nigerians continue to speak out, many are asking: How many more must suffer in silence before systemic safeguards are put in place?
