Emperor Jarret Tenebe, the party chairman, has been trying to get him into the ruling party, according to Ogbeide Ifaluyi-Isibor. In response to criticism directed at him, the former Commissioner in Godwin Obaseki’s government hinted on his Facebook page yesterday that the APC is courting him, raising speculation that he will join the ruling party if all goes according to plan.
“While the APC Chairman likes me a lot and is trying his best to get me to his party as an asset,” Ighodalo’s spokesperson stated, sounding like a debutante warding off suitors. Commentators said the former commissioner was betrayed by this hint. The former supporter of Peter Obi, who was also critical of Godwin Obaseki’s government prior to his appointment as Commissioner, is once more subtly highlighting his political worth. He has implied that the party chairman is “trying his best” and that he is so powerful that even his alleged rivals, the APC, want him.
