You can make a lot of money from people looking for an apartment. Apparently enough to be able to afford four roof terraces with a view over Berlin, a fireplace room and a massage room. None of this belongs to a luxury penthouse, but to the Immoscout24 headquarters. Germany’s largest online portal for finding accommodation describes it this way on its own website.
This Thursday, Scout24, the name of the group behind the portal, presented its preliminary business figures for 2025. They have had “another year of double-digit sales growth” and have reached almost 650 million euros. Profitability also continued to increase. A clever business concept is responsible for this: the phrase “Get to your dream home faster” accurately serves the longing of hundreds of thousands in times of dramatic housing shortages. But regardless of whether the wish for tenants and landlords or buyers and sellers comes true in the end – the scout has already earned money. It’s like playing roulette in the casino: the house always wins.
