Islamic Terrorists On The Loose In Niger State As Residents Flee Their Homes

Armed bandits have reportedly moved through Libele and are advancing towards Tashan Allura, Jibril Company, and nearby villages along the Kontagora-Yauri road in Kontagora Local Government Area of Niger State. According to eyewitnesses, the bandits were seen passing openly through the area, sparking fear and panic among residents.

This development is coming against the backdrop of recent attacks in the state, where bandits have been wreaking havoc, killing and abducting residents. In a similar incident in Mashegu Local Government Area, 16 vigilantes were killed and 42 residents kidnapped in a series of coordinated attacks by bandits. The attacks, which occurred between November 9 and 13, 2025, left several communities deserted as residents fled to safer locations.
