Israeli Strike on Syria-Lebanon Border Crossing kills 3

An Israeli air attack, targeting a Syrian military intelligence post at a crossing on Syria’s border with Lebanon, left three military personnel dead, a war monitor reported on Friday.

The strike targeted the post at the Jousieh crossing connecting the al-Qusayr countryside in Syria with Lebanon, also putting the crossing completely out of service.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights added.

The British-based watchdog said Israel was continuing its attacks on the Syrian-Lebanese border in an attempt to cut off the supply routes of the Iranian-allied Lebanese Hezbollah movement.

The Israeli Army said it had struck overnight Hezbollah infrastructure sites in the Jousieh crossing and accused the militia of exploiting the border facility, controlled by Syrian government forces, to transfer weapons to attack Israel.

Israel has carried out a total of 125 attacks in war-torn Syria so far this year, according to the observatory.

Israel has been bombing targets in Syria to prevent Iran and its allied militias from expanding their military influence in the country.

Israeli attacks on Syria have increased since the Gaza war began in October last year
