COMRADE Issa Aremu, the Director General of Michael Imoudu National Institute For Labour Studies (MINILS) has Felicitated Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole on his appointment as Commissioner for Health in Edo State, saying the appointment is well-deserved.
Dr. Cyril, the son of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who is also a serving Senator, was appointed by Governor Monday Okpevbholo a few weeks ago in his cabinet.
“I’m elated by the good news of the well-deserved appointment of Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole as Commissioner for Health into Governor Monday Okpevbholo’s cabinet.
“As a medical Doctor trained at the prestigious ABU Zaria with postdoctoral studies in public health in USA I have no doubts that Dr. Cyril will ultimately and urgently reinvent public healthcare in EDO state. Health is wealth of good people of the heart beat of the nation, healthy citizens equal healthy state.”, Comrade Aremu said. The Director General praised Governor Okpebholo for what he called a worthy appointment of Dr. Cyril adding that a son of two term President of NLC, two term Governor of Edo state and serving Senator with bagful of achievements must even do better to ensure sustainable health care in Edo state.
Comrade Aremu said Dr. Cyril and the state governor can count on his support for success jokingly added that “am also a son of Iyamo where my mentor comrade Adams Oshiomhole comes from . Indeed am the first “senior Cyril” the name our grand mother Oshiomhole called first time I met her in late 80s and even today and tomorrow am in the village for our good unflavored pounded yam and assorted native soups”
