Jaja Okungbowa Buries Centenarian Mother In Style

 

…As Members Of Baptist High School Benin Class ’84 Set Celebrates With Him.

A prominent Benin City based businessman, and an active member of the Baptist High School Benin City, Class of 1984 Set, Mr. Jaja Okungbowa, organized befitting grand farewell ceremonies for his late centenarian mother, Dr. Mrs Ohumumwen Osemwengie Okungbowa over the weekend.

The elaborately planned ceremonies which began on Friday 10th January, 2025, with a novelty Football Match held at the Vuvuzela Airport Road, Benin City, continued on Saturday 11th January 2025, with a massively attended social dance which took place at the Military Base Hospital Airport Road, Benin City.

At the spectacular social dance, guests from diaspora and across the country were treated to varieties of drinks, sumptuous African and continental dishes, while powerful thrilling songs was supplied by the Talents of Benin musical group.

Members of Baptist High School, Benin City Class of 1984 Set, who turned out in large numbers during the social dance, to facilitate with Mr. Jaja Okungbowa, were led by Mr. Benson Uwadiae ( Vice – President); Comrade Igbotako Nowinta ( General – Secretary); Mr. Yaya Omosun (Public Relations Officer); Mrs. Adesuwa Osariemen Uzamere (immediate past president); Mr. Gentle Emovon; Pastors Kerry Obaseki and Chris Osaretin Eburu, etc.

The visibly elated Mr. Jaja Okungbowa profusely thanked guests who attended the ceremonies, especially members of Baptist High School Class of 1984 Set. According to him:” l feel really fulfilled and honoured by the show of love demonstrated by friends and well wishers, who created time out of their busy schedules to join me in celebrating my beloved mother. Especially, l appreciate members of the Baptist High School Class of 1984 Set for their huge support”.

The outing service for the late Mrs Ohumumwen Osemwengie Okungbowa, was held on Sunday 12th January, 2025, at the Holy Aruosa Church, Akpakpava Road, Benin City, while a grand reception took place at the Celebration Garden, Ehenuyi Street, GRA, off Boundary Road, Benin City.The late centenarian was also known as “Uduku” nee Tongo: she died at the ripe old age of 101 years.
