Kano Correctional Service Arrests Two Men Trying to Smuggle Drugs to Inmates

The Kano State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has arrested Usman Khalid and Bello Musa Ahmed for attempting to smuggle Indian hemp and other illicit substances to inmates at the Nomansland Court Complex.

The suspects were caught during court proceedings by vigilant officers from the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Goron Dutse, highlighting the risks of drug trafficking during inmate transportation. NCoS spokesperson Musbahu Lawan warned that anyone attempting to aid inmates in such illegal activities risks severe legal consequences.

The Controller of the command, Ado Inuwa, confirmed that the suspects and the confiscated drugs have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and prosecution.

The NCoS reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on drugs and urged the public to cooperate with authorities to maintain security and order in Kano State.
