Kano Court Restrains Bayero From Renovating Mini Palace

A Kano State High Court presided by the Chief Judge, Justice Dije Aboki, on Thursday, reaffirmed its earlier interim order of September 13, restraining the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero from restructuring, refurbishing, or renovating Nasarawa mini place, pending the hearing and determination of motion on notice.

Recall that the Kano State Government, alongside two other applicants, approached the court, seeking to restrain the defendant from carrying out any renovation in the Nasarawa mini palace.

When the case resumed on Thursday for hearing of the originating motion, the counsel for the applicants told the court that the defendant had neither filed any processes nor represented.

Justice Aboki consequently reassigned the case to Kano State High Court 15, presided by Justice Sanusi Ado Maaji, following the judges resumption from their annual vacation.

The chief judge ordered that a hearing notice be served on the defendant.
