The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old man, Ishiaku Bukar, for allegedly r3ping an 11-year-old girl in Fika Local Government Area. Police say Bukar lured the young survivor to his farm under the guise of offering her help, only to take advantage of her.
According to SP Dungus Abdulkarim, spokesperson of the command, operatives acted swiftly after receiving a distress call from the girl’s guardian. He confirmed that the suspect was arrested on Saturday, September 13, 2025, and confessed to the crime during interrogation. Medical treatment and evaluation of the child have already commenced.
The police condemned the act in strong terms, warning that such crimes will be met with the full weight of the law. CP Emmanuel Ado, the State Commissioner of Police, also urged communities to stay vigilant, report suspicious activities, and protect women and children, especially as farming season provides cover for predators who prey on vulnerable farmhands.
He reiterated the command’s stance: “Say No to Rape. Protect Women and Children.”
