Keyamo Honours NUATE at 2024 ITF Congress in Morocco

NIGERIA’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, has honoured the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) during the 2024 International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) Congress in Marrakesh, Morocco.

Keyamo’s attendance as a special guest at the global gathering highlights the Federal Government’s support for the pivotal role transport workers play in stabilizing the aviation sector and contributing to Nigeria’s economy.

The ITF Congress, one of the largest international gatherings of transport unions, brought together delegates from over 150 countries to discuss issues affecting workers’ rights and share best practices across various transport sectors.

NUATE, Nigeria’s largest industrial union in the aviation sector, was prominently represented at the event alongside other transport unions from Nigeria.

In his address, Minister Keyamo praised the commitment and resilience of Nigerian aviation workers, recognizing their significant role in the sector’s growth, safety, and stability.

“The success of our aviation industry is deeply rooted in the dedication of our workers. It is essential that we continue to support and engage with them as partners in driving the sector forward. My presence here in Marrakesh reflects that commitment,” Keyamo stated.

The Minister’s involvement at the Congress also highlights the government’s effort to strengthen collaboration between industry stakeholders, unions, and policymakers to address key challenges such as workers’ welfare, infrastructure development, and sectoral reforms.

During the Congress, Keyamo also met with global leaders and aviation experts, where he shared Nigeria’s vision for a more sustainable and innovative aviation ecosystem.

He emphasized the Ministry’s resolve to improve workers’ conditions, streamline operations, and ensure that Nigeria’s aviation industry aligns with international standards.
