The Lagos State Police Command has strongly dismissed a disturbing viral video alleging that a popular restaurant along Airport Road was killing people and selling their body parts to unsuspecting customers.
In a statement, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, described the allegations as baseless, misleading, and completely false. He explained that once the video started circulating, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to launch a thorough probe into the claims.
Investigations, according to Hundeyin, revealed that the viral claims had no merit whatsoever. “The public should disregard the video as it is unfounded and only capable of creating unnecessary panic among Lagosians,” he said.
He assured residents that there was no evidence of any criminal activity at the restaurant in question, and customers are free to continue patronizing the establishment without fear.
The police further vowed to track down the originators of the malicious video, urging members of the public with credible information to come forward. Hundeyin noted that any information provided would be treated confidentially and would aid in taking legal action against the perpetrators spreading fake news.
He concluded by reminding Lagosians to fact-check information before sharing, stressing that the command remains committed to the safety and security of all residents and businesses in the state.
