Your Royal Majesty,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to you as a concerned citizen of Edo State deeply concerned about the recent surge in cult-related violence within our beloved Edo State.
As you are aware, the Edo State Police Command has confirmed the tragic death of one individual in a renewed cult clash, with reports indicating that the toll may be as high as eight lives lost. The ongoing conflict between the Eiye and Vikings confraternities is not only a source of grief for families but also a stain on the dignity of our kingdom. In light of this, we respectfully urge you to consider invoking the same spiritual deterrents you employed in the past to combat human trafficking. Your words carry immense weight, and we believe that a similar invocation against the perpetrators of these violent acts could send a powerful message to those involved in such heinous activities.
As we witness the transition of leadership in our state, with Governor Obaseki handing over to Senator Monday Okpebholo, it is imperative that we work towards fostering unity and cooperation between the outgoing and incoming administrations. We encourage you, Your Majesty, to act as a bridge between both parties, facilitating open dialogue and the sharing of vital information that can ensure a smooth transition.
Your guidance and support in creating an enabling environment for collaboration will be crucial in addressing the pressing issues facing Edo State, including the alarming rise in cult violence. By promoting peace and cooperation, you can help steer our state towards a brighter future for all Edo people.
We trust in your wisdom and leadership to help restore peace and security to our kingdom. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter, and we look forward to your continued efforts in safeguarding the well-being of our community.
Yours respectfully,
Rev. David Ugolor
