Residents of Montgomery County, Maryland, were left shocked after police arrested a 44-year-old man, Tshikundi Taty, who allegedly disguised himself as a woman to secretly record unsuspecting women in gym locker rooms. The disturbing incident unfolded after multiple reports emerged from fitness centers in Germantown and White Oak.
According to the Montgomery County Police Department, the first complaint was filed on October 10, 2025, when a woman at One Life Fitness Club in Germantown reported that someone had entered the women’s locker room and recorded her while she was in the shower.
Investigations revealed that Taty had allegedly been disguising himself as a woman to gain access to female locker rooms. Once inside, he would secretly film women before removing his disguise and fleeing the scene. Police officers tracked his movements for days before finally apprehending him.
On Wednesday, detectives followed Taty to a Planet Fitness location in White Oak. Once again, he was found inside the women’s locker room, wearing a disguise. Officers quickly moved in and arrested him on the spot.
Authorities confirmed that Taty was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he now faces multiple charges related to invasion of privacy and unlawful surveillance. Police are urging any additional victims who may have encountered similar incidents to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
