At least three suspected motorcycle thieves were reportedly killed by a mob, while the office of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) was set ablaze in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area.
The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on December 28, 2025, at the Danmaje Quarters Divisional Office of the NSCDC in Dawakin Kudu.
According to sources, NSCDC personnel attached to the office had earlier arrested three suspects over alleged motorcycle theft. Following the arrest, a group of angry youths, reportedly armed with dangerous weapons, mobilised in large numbers and stormed the NSCDC office, demanding that the suspects be handed over to them.
The sources said the mob overpowered the NSCDC personnel, forced them out of the office and set the building on fire. The suspects were also reportedly attacked during the incident.
Security operatives later arrived at the scene, while the victims were taken to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where they were confirmed dead by medical personnel. Their bodies were subsequently deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident, as investigations are expected to commence.
