THE Yobe State Chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has expressed optimism in the consideration and approval of N70,000 minimum wage by Governor Mai Mala Buni in order to benefit both workers and the serving administration.

This was made known on Saturday by the Chairman NLC Yobe State, Comrade Muktari Musa Tarbutu while reacting to a malicious and fabricated circular on social media platforms calling Yobe State civil servants to embark on a statewide strike.

The state NLC Chairman said the fake news/circular is entirely false and without any basis.

He recalled that the joint committee between the government and NLC has concluded its Negotiation on the New Minimum wage and the report has since been forwarded to Governor Mai Mala Buni CON for his consideration and approval.

“The NLC in Yobe state under my leadership passed a vote of confidence in our committed and dynamic leaders Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni for approving N70,000 as minimum wage to our civil servants.

” Let me use this opportunity to call on all civil servants in Yobe to disregard the purported fake circular and continue with their normal works and activities.

“Let me also urge Yobe State civil servants and general public to be cautious of fake News, concocted circulars, and always verify information through credible source before sharing, as Yobe State NLC remains committed to promoting and protecting the rights and interests of Yobe State workers”.
