Senator Ned Nwoko has alleged that his wife, Regina Daniels, is battling drug and alcohol addiction, claiming that her struggles have caused escalating tension and violent episodes in their marriage.
In a statement posted on Sunday via his verified Facebook page, titled “Regina’s Unprovoked Carnage And Rampage In My House And In My Absence,” the Delta North lawmaker said he fears for his wife’s health and safety, urging her to continue her rehabilitation program. According to him, Regina’s recent conduct has become erratic and dangerous, leading to property damage and physical altercations with household staff.
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety,” Nwoko stated, adding that he had suggested she receive treatment either in Asokoro, Abuja, or Jordan, where she would not have access to drugs.
The senator further claimed that Regina had refused his suggestion and moved to an undisclosed location to maintain access to illicit substances. He also alleged that two individuals — Sammy and Ann — have been supplying the actress with drugs, and that her violent outburst began after a nurse exposed her substance use.
Nwoko maintained that he has other wives who have never accused him of abuse, insisting that Regina was the aggressor. “She slapped and hit three staff in the past 48 hours and destroyed cars and windows for no just cause,” he said.
However, this statement comes shortly after a viral video surfaced online showing Regina Daniels in tears, claiming she could no longer endure what she described as “persistent domestic violence.” In the clip, she was surrounded by concerned individuals trying to calm her as she cried, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen.”
The conflicting accounts have stirred public debate, with fans and commentators calling for a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure the safety and well-being of both parties.
Regina Daniels, 25, rose to fame as a child actress and has since become one of Nollywood’s most popular stars. She married Senator Nwoko in 2019, and the couple shares two children.
