Nigerian Man Arrested in Bangkok for Selling Ecstasy and Cocaine to Tourists

Immigration police in Bangkok, Thailand, have arrested a Nigerian national, identified as Chibuike, after an undercover operation uncovered 40 ecstasy pills and 10 grams of cocaine in his possession. The arrest occurred at a condominium in Soi Inthamara 25 on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Authorities revealed that Chibuike was allegedly supplying narcotics to groups of foreign tourists in the bustling Samsen Nai area of Phaya Thai District. The operation, led by Division 1 of the Immigration Bureau’s Investigation Department, was prompted by a tip-off about drug sales in the area.

Undercover agents arranged a transaction via WhatsApp, purchasing the drugs for a total of ฿102,000. Officers tracked the suspect, monitored the delivery, and arrested him on site without resistance, seizing all drugs and related items.

During questioning, Chibuike admitted ownership of the drugs and stated he intended to sell them for profit. He also disclosed that he had received the narcotics from another unidentified foreign supplier. Police have charged him with illegally selling Category 1 narcotics (ecstasy) and Category 2 narcotics (cocaine).

Authorities are currently reviewing his digital communications, travel history, and immigration records to identify potential accomplices and trace the source of the drugs. The suspect remains in custody as investigators continue their work, while forensic testing on the seized substances is underway.

Bangkok police have pledged increased surveillance in tourist-heavy districts to prevent similar drug-related crimes, emphasizing the importance of public tips in ongoing investigations.
