THE tenure of Dr Bashir Jamoh as the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has come to an end.
His tenure ended on Sunday 10th of March 2024.
Jamoh had expeditiously done the needful by handing over to the most senior executive director in the agency, Hon Chudi Offodile.
His action was unexpected. Hitherto, under the Buhari administration, appointees’ inclination to stay put in office after tenure expiration was characteristic.
Thus time round, even though the Presidency seemed undecided yet on who to succeed him, Jamoh had reportedly handed over on Mo day to the Executive Director in charge of Finance and Administration, Offodile who would act until a substantive DG is named by President Bola Tinubu.
Dr Bashir Jamoh was appointed as Director General of NIMASA on 10th of March 2020 by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
He replaced Dr Dakuku Peterside.
