NNPCL Raises Petrol Price to ₦945 per Litre in Fresh Hike

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has again increased the pump price of petrol at its retail stations nationwide — the second adjustment in just four days.

Checks on Friday revealed that NNPCL outlets in Abuja, including Kubwa, Lugbe Expressway, Wuse Zone 4, and Wuse Zone 5, were selling petrol at ₦945 per litre. The same price was recorded at NNPCL stations in parts of Nasarawa and Kogi states.

National Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi, confirmed the increase, saying: “The latest increase in NNPCL petrol pump was implemented this morning. I cannot tell the reason.”

The hike comes barely two days after NNPCL reduced its price to ₦900 per litre from ₦955, which was the price earlier in the week.

This fluctuation follows Dangote Refinery’s move to raise its ex-depot price from ₦820 to ₦850 per litre.

As of Friday evening, MRS and Bova stations were selling petrol at ₦885 and ₦895 per litre, respectively, while Optima, Ranoil, AA Rano, NIPCO, and others in Abuja priced it between ₦950 and ₦955.
