Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has expressed his deep sadness over a tragic tanker explosion in Niger State that claimed the lives of at least 30 people and injured around 40 others. In a heartfelt post on his X handle, Obi extended his condolences to the families of the victims, the affected communities, and the Niger State government.
Obi lamented the harsh realities of poverty that force people to risk their lives to survive, highlighting that such tragedies have become alarmingly frequent in Nigeria. He emphasized that the loss of lives has become so common that it’s often met with silence and indifference from those in authority.
