Nollywood Actress Doris Ogala Released from Police Custody

Nigerian actress Doris Ogala has been released from police detention after spending two days in custody. Doris was initially arrested on Saturday evening following her social media call-out of Lagos-based pastor Chris Okafor, whom she accused of deceiving her with a marriage promise, among other allegations.

Her arrest sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many Nigerians and online personalities, including VeryDarkMan, demanding her immediate release.

Celebrating her freedom on Instagram Monday afternoon, Doris thanked human rights activist and politician Omoyele Sowore, as well as VeryDarkMan, for their efforts. In her post, she wrote: “Thank you Sowore. Thanks so much to my ratel king.”

Her release has reignited discussions about social media accountability, personal grievances, and the role of public advocacy in ensuring justice.
