Popular Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, widely known as Odumodublvck, has described politics in Nigeria as “a shambolic scene”, stressing that power often corrupts even the best-intentioned leaders. The artist made the remark during a recent episode of the BET Talks podcast, where he shared his candid thoughts on leadership and political accountability in the country.
Odumodublvck explained that no matter how good or bad a leader is, the influence of those around him often determines his success or failure. “Politics in Nigeria is a shambolic scene like everywhere in the world. When you give a man power, it never really goes as planned. If he’s bad, bad people make him worse; if he’s good, bad people try to contaminate the good,” he said.
He lamented that many Nigerians have been “brainwashed” into blaming only the President for the country’s problems, ignoring other elected officials who wield power at the local and state levels. “You have your local chairman, councillor, senator who represent you, but you’re holding only the president accountable,” he said, urging citizens to demand transparency and performance from all tiers of government.
Odumodublvck’s remarks have sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians praising his honesty and calling for broader political awareness among the youth.
