Olawepo-Hashim Declares 2027 Presidential Bid a National Movement to Rebuild Nigeria

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has described his 2027 presidential ambition as a national movement aimed at liberating Nigeria and restoring its global pride.

Speaking in Makurdi during the inauguration of his state and local government coordinators in Benue State, Olawepo-Hashim—represented by his Chief of Staff, Kamadin Sanni—said his aspiration was not born out of personal ambition but a collective drive to rebuild the nation’s economy and unite its people.

“This is not just my project; it is a movement for all Nigerians, our children, and future generations,” he said. “We want to rebuild a country people are proud to call home — a place where foreigners would once again seek greener pastures.”

He urged his campaign coordinators to engage every local government, ward, and polling unit in Benue, stressing that grassroots mobilisation would be critical to electoral victory in 2027.

In his remarks, Benue State Coordinator, Isaac Mfo, described the movement as divine and called on members to show dedication. “Benue has over one million votes, and it is our duty to deliver them for Dr. Olawepo-Hashim,” he said.

Sunday Sado, Special Adviser on Political Affairs, added that the aspirant’s vision was to rescue Nigeria from insecurity, poverty, and failed leadership, saying, “God has brought Dr. Olawepo-Hashim for a purpose — to liberate our country.”

Responding on behalf of the 23 local government coordinators, Emmanuel Ortserga pledged total commitment to the cause, expressing confidence that their collective effort would lead to victory and a new beginning for Nigeria.
