Olle-Bunu Community in Kogi West Hit by Bandit Attack, Two Residents Abducted

Olle-Bunu community in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State was thrown into fear on Sunday morning after a reported bandit attack led to the abduction of two residents.

Local sources identified the victims as Ayinmero Shola and Monday, popularly known as Jebete, according to Okun Voice. The circumstances surrounding the abduction remain unclear.

Residents said the attack has heightened tension in the community, which has faced repeated security breaches despite calls for increased protection. This incident adds to the growing security challenges in Kogi West, with renewed demands for decisive action from authorities.

Just a few days earlier, on Friday, bandits ambushed residents traveling from Ogbe to Egbe for a wedding along the Ogbe–Egbe axis. One person was shot and rushed to an undisclosed hospital, while five others were abducted and taken into the bush.
