Ondo Amotekun Arrests 39 Suspected Terrorists Fleeing Sokoto After US Airstrikes

The Ondo State security outfit, Amotekun, has arrested 39 suspected terrorists who reportedly fled Sokoto State following the Christmas Day airstrikes by the United States military in Nigeria’s North-West.

State commander Chief Adetunji Adeleye disclosed that the suspects relocated to Ondo forests to escape pressure in the North. “We are profiling them, and those found with incriminating materials will be prosecuted,” Adeleye said, adding that forest occupancy without permits is prohibited.

In total, 100 suspects were paraded, including 50 linked to law and order violations, six to kidnapping, two to anti-open grazing, and three to sexual abuse and rape. Adeleye appreciated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and all security agencies for their support in ensuring public safety across the state.
