The Ora-Ekpen Development Association (ODA) has announced the passing of Chief (Dr.) Solomon Ehigiator Arase, a former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Chief Arase, who was the 18th indigenous IGP, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at approximately 9 a.m. at Cedecrest Hospital, Abuja, after a brief illness. He was 69 years old.
In a statement signed by Sir (Noble) Donatus Agbebaku Dada Igboin, President of ODA, the association expressed deep condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Arase-Igbe family, and everyone who was close to him. Chief Arase is described as a “loving and dependable member” of the Ora-Ekpen Development Association.
The ODA noted that Chief Arase’s passing is a “huge loss” to the Ora clan, particularly to the Ifidon family of Sabongidda-Ora, his maternal family. The association made the announcement on behalf of the entire Ora people at home and in the diaspora.
