Pastor Chris Okafor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, also known as Grace Nation Liberation City, has publicly apologised to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala following days of controversy that led to her arrest and release by the Nigeria Police.
Okafor issued the apology during a livestream uploaded by DavePlayBlogger on Sunday and seen by SaharaReporters on X, where he acknowledged past mistakes while disputing several allegations against him.
“Listen, we’re not joining issues. Mistakes have been made in the past. And I tender apology to everybody,” he said. Okafor maintained that many of the accusations were false but directly apologised to Ogala and others he had offended.
He added, “I apologize to everyone that I have offended. And once again, I repeat this. I’m ready to make restitution to anyone… I’m kneeling down before everyone. And before the church.”
The apology follows Ogala’s arrest in Abuja after being granted bail, her subsequent transfer to Lagos, and her eventual release, facilitated by intervention from Take It Back Movement coordinator, Jamiu Towolawi.
The dispute reportedly began after Ogala accused Okafor of breaching an alleged promise to marry her. Through her lawyers, Synergy Law Partners, she demanded N1 billion in damages, citing emotional distress, reputational harm, and financial loss, including a N45 million transfer connected to their relationship.
