The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has told Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, in clear terms — you can’t dictate to us.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, dismissed Wike’s recent comments, stressing that the PDP will operate strictly by its constitution, not under anyone’s conditions.
Ologunagba explained that the South-South zonal caretaker committee is fully functional and will remain in place until a proper congress is conducted. “When the time comes, every eligible member from the zone will have the right to contest,” he said.
Taking a swipe at those considering leaving the party, Ologunagba warned it would be a “voyage of no discovery” — adding that while people are free to leave, the doors of the PDP remain open to former members who wish to return.
The comments come amid ongoing political tension between Wike and sections of the PDP leadership, with both sides trading subtle jabs over the party’s direction.
