“Peter Obi Is Coming” — Obidient Movement Unveils Prosperity Cap, Mobilizes Grassroots in Kano

There’s a fresh wave of political energy sweeping through the grassroots—and it’s wearing a cap. Literally. The Obidient Movement has reignited its push for a new Nigeria, announcing the comeback of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, with the bold declaration: “Peter Obi is coming.”

At a colourful event in Kano’s Municipal Local Government Area, the movement inaugurated its new Ward Coordinators, signaling a deeper dive into community-level mobilization. But this wasn’t just another political gathering—it came with a powerful symbol: the Peter Obi Prosperity Cap.

Described by National Coordinator Yunusa Tanko as more than fabric and thread, the cap represents “the journey from consumption to production” and a united stand against hunger, bad governance, and misuse of public funds. It’s a rallying point—a visual promise of a Nigeria that works for everyone.

The momentum isn’t just limited to Kano. Leaders from Jigawa and Katsina attended in solidarity, pledging to carry the Prosperity Cap—and all it stands for—back to their states. Their message is clear: the vision for a New Nigeria under Peter Obi is not forgotten.

“This cap is more than a fashion item,” the statement reads. “It’s a call to action—for accountability, transformation, and leadership that truly serves the people.”

And as chants of “Peter Obi is coming!” filled the air, it was obvious—this movement is far from done.
