Petrol Price Soars Again: NNPC Raises Pump Price to ₦955/Litre Across Stations

National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has officially raised the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at its retail outlets from ₦890 to ₦955 per litre.

The new pricing has taken immediate effect across major cities, including NNPCL filling stations along Kubwa Expressway, Wuse, and other parts of Abuja. The adjustment is also being enforced in Kogi and Nasarawa States.

This marks a ₦65 increase per litre, further straining the pockets of citizens already grappling with rising living costs.

Over the weekend, many independent marketers and private filling stations had already raised their petrol prices, selling between ₦950 and ₦971 per litre in Abuja. Their move followed a recent decision by the Dangote Refinery, which reviewed its ex-depot price upward from ₦820 to ₦858 per litre.

The hike from NNPC now aligns with this broader pricing trend—and for many Nigerians, it’s another sign that relief at the pump is not in sight anytime soon.
