A federal lawmaker representing Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) in Borno State, Hon. Abdulkadir Rahis
has distributed food palliatives to 794 constituents.
Rahis, while stating the importance of support to members of his constituency, said the bags of rice distributed are worth N70 million.
He noted that the distribution underscores his commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those he represents.
“It will provide relief to individuals during the current economic downturn, especially during the Ramadan fasting,” he said.
He said the beneficiaries are the District Heads, Ward Heads, All Proceeds Congress (APC) executive members from the 15 wards under his constituency, as well as women and youth groups.
Speaking at the venue, Borno State Secretary of APC, Barrister Mustapha Loskuri, said it’s one out of many gestures extended to constituents by the lawmaker.
“Few months back, Hon Rahis has offer scholarship to hundreds of students, distributes laptop to best students and water pumps and generators to farmers to boost production in the state,” he said.
Also speaking, the MMC Ward Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Mohammed Waziri, warned the constituents against selling the palliatives given to them.
“These palliatives were given to you to alleviate the suffering faced by people in the society, extend similar help to neighbors and people around you. Don’t sell it please,” he said.
