RCCG Founder’s Last Son, Pastor Ifeoluwa Akindayomi, Dies at 63

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) community has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Pastor Ifeoluwa Akindayomi, the last son of the church’s founder, Pa Josiah Akindayomi. He passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 63 — barely seven months after the death of his elder brother, Pastor Kolade Akindayomi, who died on May 4 this year.

According to family sources, Pastor Ifeoluwa’s death came as a shock, especially since he had just chaired a wedding ceremony less than 24 hours earlier. Until his passing, he served as the Assistant Provincial Pastor of RCCG Ogun Province 5 and was also the owner of a thriving printing business.

A close acquaintance revealed that Pastor Ifeoluwa had been preparing to relocate to Canada, where his wife and children reside. He had recently secured permanent residency and was looking forward to reuniting with his family after years of separation. Sadly, his plans were cut short before he could make the move.

Described by those who knew him as a humble, peace-loving man, Pastor Ifeoluwa lived a life of quiet service. His longtime friend and fellow pastor, Debo Akinyemi, spoke fondly of him, saying he was “a true gentleman who never flaunted his background or position.”

“He didn’t like attention,” Akinyemi said. “He was content doing his bit for God and helping people. His home was always open to guests during RCCG conventions, and he treated everyone with kindness and respect.”

Born into one of Nigeria’s most influential Christian families, Pastor Ifeoluwa chose a simple life — one marked by faith, humility, and service. His death marks another deep loss for both the Akindayomi family and the RCCG community.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
