IN response to the recent report by Leadership blog that stated the Edo State House of Assembly had invited Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, the nominee for Commissioner of Health, and subsequently deferred his screening, we would like to clarify and set the record straight.
It is important to note that Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, the esteemed nominee, has not yet appeared before the House of Assembly for his screening. The session on Wednesday did not involve his screening, and the delay in his confirmation was due to scheduling considerations, not any issue with his candidacy. Dr. Oshiomhole, a highly qualified medical professional with a wealth of experience in health management, is confident that when his turn comes, the screening process will be seamless and transparent, and he will undoubtedly be confirmed to serve Edo State with the dedication and excellence it deserves.
I am pleased to emphasize that Dr. Oshiomhole is not only well-qualified for the position but is deeply committed to advancing the healthcare system in Edo State. His qualifications and passion for public service will undoubtedly serve the state well, ensuring that the people of Edo continue to enjoy the best possible healthcare services.
I would also like to kindly urge bloggers, journalists, and media outlets to prioritize accurate, verified information when reporting on matters of public interest. Disseminating misleading or unverified reports can inadvertently mislead the public and cause unnecessary confusion. It is critical that we maintain the integrity of the information we share, especially when it pertains to the leadership and governance of our state.
Dr. Oshiomhole remain committed to the principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability, and I trust that the public will continue to support him as he move forward with the confirmation process.
Signed:
Dr. Alari-enoma Edosa
For: Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, Commissioner of Health Designate
