Coalition of Yobe South Youth Groups (CoYSYGs) have distanced themselves from alleged agitation for recall of Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai.
The groups insisted that the so-called agitation for recall were orchestrated and sponsored by some selfish individuals.
This was disclosed by the leader of the coalition, Comrade Bappa Mohammed Adam during a press conference held at Federal College of Education Potiskum on Friday.
He said: “I stand before you today as the leader of the Coalition of Yobe South Youths Groups to address you on the self centered agitation for recall of Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai as the Senator representing Yobe South.
“We categorically distance ourselves from these agitations for recall of Senator Bomai because it is orchestrated and sponsored by individuals dissatisfied with his electoral successes using uninformed persons to tarnish his political reputation and dent his future political career seeing him as a stumbling block to their political ambitions.
“Senator Bomai has proved to be a beacon of progress, delivering vital projects in health, education, water supply, roads, electrification and general empowerment across our communities.
“His most spectacular achievement include the construction of 23 roads and others that are on going which has enhanced the socio-ecomic activities of our Zone.
“His construction of health centers and provision of medical supplies is most commendable.
“His projects on information technology in our various schools as indispensable tool for modern education is not only visionary but also ingenious.
“His provision of solar powered and motorized boreholes in all parts of Yobe South has greatly improved potable water supply in numerous communities.
“His provision of solar lights and electric transformers in many areas has also boosted socio economic activities of our Zone.
“In fact his achievements had surpassed those of all other legislators in the Zone since 1999.
“Except for selfish motive is this the person disgruntled elements are clamoring for his recall. Definitely this has nothing to do with non performance but purely for political motive.
“Considering the phenomenal achievements of Senator Bomai, we urge all our constituents in Yobe South not to be used by his political detractors but to unite in supporting him to bring more dividends of democracy to our people as any attempt to distract him is a sabotage to our development. Let us stand firm against divisive politics and continue to foster progress for Yobe South”. Comrade Adam stated.
