Self-Acclaimed Prophet Arrested for Allegedly R@ping EKSU Student as Police Crack Down on Criminals in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a self-acclaimed prophet, Ajayi Oluwatoyin, for allegedly r@ping a 20-year-old 100-level student of Ekiti State University (EKSU).

The State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, made this known while addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti over the weekend. He said the suspect was among several others apprehended for offences including armed robbery, r@pe, and illegal possession of firearms. “At Iworoko Ekiti, a self-acclaimed prophet, Ajayi Oluwatoyin, was arrested for r@ping a 100-level EKSU student,” Eribo stated.

The commissioner explained that the arrests followed intensified operations aimed at flushing out criminal elements from the state. He revealed that two men, Bolaji Kazeem and Isa Sikirulahi, were caught with a locally-made pistol, a live cartridge, and a battle axe while riding a motorcycle in Ado-Ekiti. Another stolen bike was later recovered from their hideout in Omisanjana.

In a related operation, one Abolaji Rasheed, popularly called B.J., was arrested along Igbara Odo Road while attempting to steal a motorcycle. Two other suspects, Mohammed Jamiu and Ahmed, were also nabbed for stealing a Toyota Cabster vehicle from the Tipper Garage area of Ado-Ekiti.

Meanwhile, at Aramoko Ekiti, police officers apprehended Ajetomobi Ayomide for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old girl multiple times and threatening her with death if she reported him.

Commissioner Eribo assured residents that the command remains committed to making Ekiti a safer state, urging the public to continue supporting the police with useful information.
