SENATOR Musa Mustapha, has urged the Federal Government to provide immediate solution to alleviate the suffering of communities ravaged by flood disaster in Yobe East Senatorial District.

He also tasked on the government to provide a solution to commuters and prevent a looming humanitarian crisis in the communities.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Yusuf Ali, Senior Special Assistant Digital and Strategic Communication Strategy to Governor Mai Mala Buni at the week end following multiple flooding which destroyed houses, farmlands, roads and animals in some parts of Nguru, Gashua Tarmuwa and many local government areas in the state.

The Senator however commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for promptly sending the Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana, to assess the situation within 24 hours of the incident.

He said “I am deeply concerned about the recent flooding in Jumbam town, Tarmuwa Local Government, which has rendered the road to the State Capital, Damaturu, impassable.

“I have been informed that multiple villages and towns in the Yobe East senatorial district have been cut off, forcing residents to take longer alternative routes to access the State capital.

“This natural disaster may exacerbate the existing hardships faced by our people, who rely heavily on the State capital for essential supplies, including food and other basic necessities”.

Senator Mustapha therefore sympathized with the Yobe State Government regarding the damaged road and pray that Almighty Allah eases the situation.

Recall that the Senator has earlier made a modest donation of N10 million to the affected areas to compliment the efforts of the state government.
