Soludo Assures Power Will Return to Anambra Central After His Tenure

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has reaffirmed his commitment to zoning, pledging that power will shift to Anambra Central Senatorial District when his time in office is over. He emphasized that the rotation of the governorship seat among the three senatorial zones has become a respected tradition in the state.

Soludo made this known during an endorsement rally for his re-election campaign at Abatete, Idemili North LGA. The event also marked the official return of Ifeanyi Ibezi, a former House of Representatives member, to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The governor explained that the zoning system, which started with Anambra North before moving to Anambra South—his home zone—will naturally progress to Anambra Central after his tenure. He added that the practice ensures fairness and inclusiveness in the state’s leadership.

While welcoming Ibezi back to APGA, Soludo praised the party as the true political identity of Anambra people. He stressed that his re-election bid has grown beyond politics into a grassroots-driven movement, with communities independently hosting rallies to show their support.

“Anambra is APGA, and APGA is synonymous with Anambra,” Soludo declared, boasting of a stronger, more united party. He expressed confidence that APGA would dominate across the state’s 5,720 polling units and 326 wards, while urging Idemili North voters—known for large numbers but low turnout—to show up massively on November 8.
