Governor Chukwuma Soludo is brimming with confidence that his party will win big in the ongoing Anambra governorship election, even as reports of vote buying surface in some parts of the state.
Casting his vote at Ofeiyi Ward 19, Polling Unit 002 in Isuofia, Aguata LGA around 1:30 p.m., Soludo said he had received updates suggesting certain candidates were paying voters to secure support.
“Today is election day, and as expected, I’ve been getting calls from across the state. So far, the process has been relatively peaceful and going on smoothly,” he shared.
While acknowledging minor hitches like malfunctioning BVAS machines in areas such as Orumbanasa, the governor emphasized that the overall voting process was orderly.
He also addressed reports of vote buying in Nnewi South, where some candidates were allegedly distributing N15,000 to voters. “Even if they give N100,000, let the people vote and let the votes speak,” Soludo said, showing his commitment to the integrity of the process.
Reaffirming his optimism, the governor declared, “We are convinced that, based on one man, one vote, we are going to win by a landslide—no doubt about that.”
