Soludo Sharp: APGA Candidate Leads Anambra Governorship Election 

Chukwuma Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), is currently leading in the Anambra State governorship election held on Saturday, according to early results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Breaking down the numbers by local government areas, Soludo’s APGA has secured significant leads across the state. In Dunukofia, APGA recorded 14,892 votes compared to APC’s 3,284. Awka North saw a similar pattern, with APGA at 15,895 and APC trailing at 3,661. Njikoka LGA reported 22,213 votes for APGA against 5,687 for APC.

In Nnewi South and Nnewi North, APGA maintained a strong showing with 17,286 and 20,320 votes respectively, while APC lagged behind. Ayamelum and Anambra East also favoured Soludo, with APGA topping the results with 13,340 and 14,665 votes. Ogbaru and Oyi LGAs further confirmed APGA’s dominance, with APGA receiving 22,803 and 18,882 votes respectively.

Orumba North and Orumba South LGAs showed overwhelming support for Soludo, with 24,664 and 19,818 votes, far ahead of APC. Aguata led with a whopping 35,559 votes for APGA, while Onitsha North and Onitsha South LGAs delivered 24,225 and 15,742 votes respectively.

Anaocha, Awka South, Idemili South, Ekwusigo, and Idemili North all recorded double-digit leads for APGA, with Soludo securing more than 20,000 votes in several LGAs. Ihiala and Anambra West LGAs rounded off the state’s results, with APGA tallying 23,557 and a commanding 71,365 votes respectively.

These early results indicate a clear lead for Soludo across the state, positioning him strongly for the governorship victory. As INEC continues to collate and verify the results, political watchers and residents alike are keeping a close eye on the official announcement.
