Stefanie Stantcheva (39) is a French economist and has the 2018 Harvard Social Economics Lab founded. Using large amounts of data, her team researches how people think about redistribution, justice and economic developments. Born in Bulgaria, she spent parts of her childhood in Dresden. She now advises governments across Europe. Last year she received the John Bates Clark Medal, a kind of junior Nobel Prize for economists under 40.
