In what many are now calling a serious national security alert, a young woman has been arrested in Malumfashi, Katsina State after security operatives discovered she was in possession of military gear and loaded ammunition.
The arrest, which happened around 1am during a routine check by a joint team of Operation Fansan Yanma, has raised major eyebrows.
According to security sources, the woman was flagged down as she tried to leave town “under suspicious circumstances.” But what shocked the operatives was what they found after searching her luggage: a full military uniform, camouflage trousers, a tactical jacket, multiple mobile phones, and three loaded magazines — all carefully hidden inside her travel bag.
“She was trying to pass unnoticed,” one source shared on X. “But the items she carried suggest something more than just a late-night trip.”
Although her identity has not been made public, investigators believe she may be part of a larger network involved in smuggling arms and military equipment to terrorist groups operating in northern Nigeria.
She is currently in custody and being interrogated, as officials work to trace her connections and uncover the full story.
For a country already battling insecurity on multiple fronts, this case is another reminder that sometimes, threats don’t come dressed in black—they come dressed in disguise.
