UNEMPLOYMENT is a menace that have eaten deep into our economy thereby reducing nation building to near zero percent even though the government is striving to do something about it.
The point we should take note of in nation building is that we cannot guarantee national growth without a comprehensive strategy for job creation. Employment generation both in the public and private sectors are panacea for viable national growth.
Human and capital investments are vital and necessary enablers for job creation and employment.We must invest in capacity building and sustainable initiatives programmes.
Investment in creative skills that can generate modern day jobs should be the focus of any economic policy.
Effectiveness of infrastructural investment can only be guaranteed if investment is for both short and long term.We should note that quick fix and short term approach cannot guarantee sustainability.
Job creation that
guarantee taxes and export for foreign earnings and investment should form the basis of our economic blue prints and drives.
Unemployment and national poverty are usually products of long term neglect for job creation.
The government in striving to build the nation should ensure that they don’t neglect creation of job but make it a priority.
